A New Zealand judge has ruled that a 9-year-old girl should be saved from what is possibly the worst name of all time - Talula Does The Hula In Hawaii.

The poor young girl, who refers to herself as K in order to avoid embarrassment, has had to put up with this name for nine whole years.  I feel sorry for her - thankfully, her name will now be changed.

Other names to have been successfully banned include Cinderella Beauty Blossom, Fat Boy, Fish and Chips, Sex Fruit, Stallion, and Yeah Detroit.

Some other children weren’t so lucky - Midnight Chardonnay, Number 16 Bus Shelter, and Violence are just some of the names that passed through the net.

Minnie Driver, Hollywood actress, has chosen the name of her unborn baby.

“Being traditional, if it’s a boy I’ll name him Thomas. A girl, Isabel.”

Driver is determined to make the gender of her baby a surprise, evidenced as the baby’s room has been decorated with neutral colours.

Minnie Driver picks Thomas or Isabel

She explains, “I have two houses, so I’ve readied two rooms. Not pink or blue, because I don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl, so I’ve just made them neutral and peaceful.”

Minnie’s baby name choices really buck the recent trend of outlandish baby names - Vivienne and Leon, Levi and Sunday but to name a few.

“People make a big fuss over names. Names of babies, names of albums, names of bands. There’s nothing weird about calling your baby Chewbacca if that’s what you want to call your baby. It’s no stranger than Sarah. A name is just a noise, and if you like it, then f–k what everyone else says.”

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves have announced the name of their newborn baby boy - Levi Alves McConaughey.

Levi Alvez

“Levi was another name for the apostle Matthew in The Bible. They were, in fact, two names for the same person,” said Matthew.

“Our son was born at 6:22 pm, and this particular time represents my favorite verse in the book of Matthew in The Bible: ‘If thy eye be single, thy whole body will be full of light.’”

A message for all well-wishers, direct from the couple themselves: “We welcome Levi Alves McConaughey into this wonderful life and look forward to living in it with him. In the mean time and all times, just keep livin’.”

Nicole Kidman gave birth to her first biological baby yesterday, and has named her Sunday Rose Kidman Urban.

Weighing in at 6 pounds, 7.5 ounces, Sunday was actually born on a Monday.

The reason behind the name has not been revealed by Kidman, but we’re hoping to hear some more about the choice in the near future.

All that’s left to say is congratulations to the new parents!  And I’ll also throw in my £0.02 and say I really like the name.
