As part of a new monthly feature on the blog, we’re going to be answering the question - Which baby names are our visitors looking for?
On the our main baby names site, we use Google Analytics web analytics software to monitor how people interact with our site. We recently enabled ‘Site Search’, which lets us track which names our visitors are typing in to our search box. This is pretty cool, as it lets us understand which names people are most interested in.

The star of the X-Files, Gillian Anderson, has named her new baby boy Felix. Nancy points out that Felix is an anagram of X-File. Cute.
Michael is no longer the most popular boys name in New York, after 52 years at the top of the popularity list.
According to the Health Department’s annual list from birth certificates issued in 2007, Daniel has usurped Michael as the most popular boys baby name.
The top two girls names have been revealed as Isabella and Sophia.

Ashley was the most popular name among Hispanic families, while Madison took the top spot for black families, Sarah for white families and Sophia for Asian families.
Moving to boys, Jayden was the most popular named for both black and Hispanic families, while Michael retained first place for white families and Ryan was the most popular name for Asian families.
On the rarer side, we learn that Unique and Miracle are two of the least popular names with just 10 occurances, and Achilles, Phoenix, Orion and Wolf bring up the rear for the boys.

Billie Piper, star of TV show Secret Diary of a Call Girl, has given birth to a son.
Billie and now-husband Laurence Fox have decided to name the baby Winston James Fox.
Piper’s ex-husband, Chris Evans, was one of the first to congratulate the couple on their new arrival.
Chris actually broke the media silence surrounding the birth by posting on his Radio 1 blog: ”At the time of writing, the little fella is not even 15 hours old. He is cute as you like and didn’t cry once for the few minutes I was there.”
Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of the most famous singer in history, gave birth to baby twin girls at the weekend.
The baby names of the twin girls are Harper and Finley, according to Star Magazine.

The babies were delivered by caesarian section, and weigh in at 5lb 15oz and 5lb 2oz.
Lisa Marie has two older children, named Riley and Ben. Riley, Finley, and Harper - all very similar names! They are also considered to be unisex names - well actually, Finley is pretty much a guy’s name.
