It has gained popularity recently because of the fame of the teenage star Miley Cyrus, the daughter of singer Billy Ray Cyrus. Mileys given birth name was Destiny Hope, but her parents gave her the nickname ‘Smiley Miley’ which stuck. She legally changed her name the Miley in 2008. Due to this the name Miley has taken on the meaning ‘Smiley’.
