Mary Berry

Since 2010, Mary Berry has been one of the judges on the show, alongside baker Paul Hollywood. She is already an well-established food writer and has worked a number of cooking-related jobs since she studied at age 21 at Le Cordon Bleu. In September 2016, it was announced that GBBO was moving to Channel 4 in 2017, and she along with Sue and Mel announced their departure from the show. Mary is a Middle English form of the Hebrew name Miriam, and most sources say that the name means “bitterness”.
