Roundup of Celebrity Baby Names So Far

January is already coming to an end and it has been a busy month in the world of celebrity babies. We’ve compiled a list of all the celebrity baby names that have made their appearance this month, so read on to see which celebrity parents chose traditional names, and which ones chose more unusual names!

Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana

The famous singer was the first celebrity to give birth in the new year, becoming a mum for the first time at age 50. She and her Qatari businessman husband, Wissam Al Mana, welcomed a baby boy who they named Eissa, which is the Arabic name for Jesus.

Jamie and Rebekah Vardy

Leicester City and England footballer, Jamie Vardy, welcomed his son with his wife, Rebekah in early January. The couple have only revealed the name of their baby boy a few days ago: Finley Jaiden! Jamie told “OK!” magazine that he chose the first name, while Rebekah chose the middle name. Finley is a Gaelic name meaning ‘fair warrior’ and Jaiden is a variation of the name Jayden, a Hebrew name meaning ‘thankful.’

Molly Sims and Scott Stuber

Actress and model Molly Sims welcomed her third child this month, a boy. She revealed that the baby was a bit of a surprise to her, but is over the moon about him nonetheless. She and her husband Scott have named him Grey Douglas. Grey, of course, is the same meaning as the English vocabulary word, and Douglas is a Gaelic name meaning ‘black river.’

Katherine Heigl and Joshua Kelley

The ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star gave birth to her third child (and her first biological child together with her musician husband, since their other two children were adopted) just two weeks ago. Katherine and Joshua have called their son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr, after his father. Joshua is a Hebrew name meaning ‘God is Salvation’ while Bishop is an Old English name meaning ‘overseer.’

Geri and Christian Horner

Ginger Spice has given birth to her second child, a son, last weekend. She and her husband, Christian, have named him Montague George Hector. Montague is a French name meaning ‘pointy hill’, George is a Greek name meaning ‘farmer’ and Hector is a Greek name meaning ‘anchor.’ It is believed that Geri chose George for her son’s middle name as a tribute to her friend, the late George Michael.

Mel Gibson and Rosalind Ross

This is baby number nine for Mel, as he welcomed his son over the weekend with his girlfriend, Rosalind. The couple have named their boy Lars Gerard Gibson. Lars is derived from the Latin for ‘crowned with Laurel,’ Gerard is a German name meaning ‘strength of the spear’ and Gibson is related to the name Gilbert, meaning ‘Gilbert’s son.’
