About Talulah

Go back to names list

Talulah is a variant of Tallulah, which is a feminine name from the name of the Tallulah Falls in Georgia, America. The name of these waterfalls is said to come from a Native American word for ‘Terrible’, due to their ferocity. The name could however also have more modern connotations of majesty and awe, as the waterfalls can be respected as beautiful, as well as dangerous. The name came into popular usage during the fame of the actress Tallulah Bankhead, who was named after her Grandmother, who was herself named after the waterfalls.
