Ross Geller

Ross (David Schwimmer) is Monica’s brother and Chandler’s college roommate. He is a paleontologist who often draws attention to his Ph.D and enjoys calling himself “Dr. Ross Geller”. He has had a crush on Rachel since high school, and they have a complicated romantic relationship, eventually having a daughter together. Ross may be thought of as a transferred surname, but the word itself comes from the Gaelic term ‘ros’ meaning ‘headland’. It is a very popular name in Scotland, but has still performed well globally.
