Adele Celebrates End of World Tour With Big Announcement

Fresh off of her triumphant world tour, Adele has revealed that she’s having another baby!

The British chanteuse, 28, is certainly changing her tune from four months ago when she said to her fans at St. Paul’s Xcel Energy Center: “I don’t think I can have another child. I mean, I can. But I don’t think I want two.”

Adele’s 180 degree turn occurred when she was performing at her last US show on Monday at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix. After she congratulated her band and herself on their hard work, she said she was “off to have a baby.” She then did a champagne toast with her band and in typical Adele humour said: “I’m not going to have any because I’ve got my glorious white wine, and I can’t drink it because it wreaks havoc with my acid reflux.”

Her four-year-old son, Angelo, made her a homemade banner after her final show, which she shared on Instagram to her followers. The banner read: “Mummy you did it!!” We are sure that it was a welcome sight to come home to after Adele did 107 shows in ten months.

Adele also revealed she would be taking a break from music: “My kid is starting school, you see – hence why I’m so busy trying to get all my shows out of the way, I don’t think I’ll be away for as long.” She also took a break back in 2011 that lasted four years as she shifted her focus to her family. She welcomed her son in 2012 with her long time partner, Simon Konecki, 42.

Adele has spoken before of her pregnancy apprehensions. She has said that she is “too scared” to get pregnant and also revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair that she had postpartum depression after she gave birth. “My knowledge of postpartum—or post-natal, as we call it in England—is that you don’t want to be with your child; you’re worried you might hurt your child; you’re worried you weren’t doing a good job. But I was obsessed with my child. I felt very inadequate; I felt like I’d made the worst decision of my life . . . . It can come in many different forms,” she said.

Even with her hesitations, Adele has said that her family comes first, no exceptions: “All of my relationship are more important to me than any tour I’ll ever do. If my relationship with Simon or my relationship with Angelo started to flounder a bit now, I would pull out of my tour.”

We think Adele has got her work-family balance down pat! And now we wait with baited breath for her pregnancy announcement…
