Tom Hanks’ Troubled Son Quietly Welcomes Daughter

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson’s son, Chet Hanks, has revealed that he welcomed a baby girl eight months ago.

The new dad announced the news in an Instagram video, revealing that he has been away from social media because he has become a father.

“I want to share something today because it’s about to be shared anyway in the press, which is the fact that I have a daughter,” Chet said in his video. “I do have a daughter, she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me, she’s the reason why I turned my life around and got sober. I’ve been sober — for over a year and a half — from everything.”

Chet, 26, is Tom’s middle son and has a history of substance abuse over the years. His daugther was allegedly conceived during a one-night stand with a woman who is only known as Tiffany.

However, Chet has remained sober ever since the arrival of his daughter and has seemingly turned things around.

There won’t be any pictures of the newest Hank family member floating around because her privacy is “sacred” to Chet.

“She’s not something to be posted,” he explained. “She’s something that I love, that’s changed my life but the fact is she’s about to be shared with everybody so I wanted you to hear it from me.”

According to a source that has spoken to “In Touch,” Tom and Rita are “really excited” with their new granddaughter. They also spent Halloween together and Chet will be supporting his daughter with the help of his father.

“It hasn’t been easy making all my mistakes in public but I’m figuring it out,” Chet admitted. “I’m doing the best that I can.”
