What better way to ring in the new year than with a baby?
Grammy-winning singer, Janet Jackson, has given birth to a baby boy and has become a first time mum at the age of 50. A rep for Janet has confirmed the new arrival and that “Janet had a stress free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably.”
As well as announcing her birth, Janet also shared her son’s name: Eissa Al Mana.
Pregnancy rumours surrounded Janet back in May when she postponed her world tour in order to focus her energies on starting a family with her husband, Qatari businessman, Wissam Al Mana, 41, who she married in 2012. She later confirmed her pregnancy back in October with a photoshoot in “People” magazine.
Janet’s older brother Jermaine said in an interview with “E! News” back in May that he thinks that she will be amazing mum. “She’ll be a great mother because she is very tough, very strict,” he said. “But I tell her, ‘If you need any parenting skills or baby skills, let me know because I’m the best diaper changer there is on this planet still to this day.’”
